NOCE is part of the California Community Colleges. The California Community Colleges have partnered with CA DMV and ID.me to protect student identities. You can verify online with either partner or in person at the Admissions and Records offices at any of our three NOCE centers. Pick whichever works best for you.

You’ll be prompted to verify after you create your CCCStart account and begin your application. You can verify then, or come back later.
Begin your North Orange Continuing Education Application through CCCStart
You can finish and submit whether or not you’ve verified yet.
Verify with the CA DMV Wallet or with ID.me while you’re in the application, or select “Verify Later” and handle it afterward.
If you selected “Verify Later,” complete verification through the CA DMV Wallet, through ID.me, or in person at Admissions and Records offices at any of our three NOCE centers.
All four methods satisfy the requirement equally. Choose the one that fits the documents and devices you have.
California’s mobile Driver’s License (mDL) is a free, secure digital ID in the CA DMV Wallet app. It verifies your identity from your phone while keeping your personal information on your device.
ID.me verifies your identity online by scanning an ID document and matching a selfie. It is used by more than 100 million people and hundreds of government and private organizations.
Bring a government-issued photo ID to one of our Admissions & Records offices at any of our three NOCE Centers and a staff member will verify you while you wait. No smartphone, app, or online account needed.
If you selected “Verify Later” while creating your OpenCCC account, you can still complete your identity verification after submitting your CCCStart application.
1. Verify Your Identity Through Socure
NOCE will send you an email once you complete your CCCStart application containing a secure Verify Your Identity link that connects you to Socure, our identity verification provider. The link will remain active for 120 hours (5 days). If it expires before you complete verification, contact Admissions & Records to request a new link.
2. Start the Verification Process
Select the secure link provided in the email and choose Start Verification to begin. The verification process typically takes about two minutes to complete.
Before continuing, Socure will display information about its identity verification process, including the use of identity documents, selfies, and automated verification technology. Review the Terms of Use and Privacy Notice, then select Consent to proceed. If you do not wish to continue, select Decline.
4. Complete Identity Verification
Follow the on-screen instructions to provide the requested identity document and complete any required photo or selfie verification steps. Once submitted, Socure will display a confirmation message indicating that your verification has been completed.
5. Watch for Confirmation from NOCE
After your identity verification has been reviewed and approved, NOCE will send you a separate confirmation email. If the email states “No further action is required at this time,” your identity verification process is complete and no additional action is needed.
The CA DMV Wallet is part of a free and voluntary pilot program. To enroll:

California’s AB 60 program allows individuals who cannot provide proof of legal presence in the United States to obtain a California driver’s license or state ID card. If you don’t currently have one, you may be eligible.
ID cards do not require testing, only documentation.

CCCStart has implemented ID.me as part of the online application. ID.me provides a trusted pathway for students to securely verify their identity in accordance with federal standards.
ID.me uses the same identity verification and fraud reduction technology currently in place across 37 state agencies and 15 federal agencies, including:

ID.me uses strong encryption and retains biometric data only temporarily, from 24 hours up to 36 months depending on the credential.

If neither online option works for you, verify your identity in person. This is a good choice if you don’t have the documents ID.me requires, don’t have a California DL or ID, or would simply rather do it face to face.

Identity verification is required, but you don’t have to do it while you’re applying. Selecting “Verify Later” lets you submit your application right away and come back to verification when you’re ready.
Your application will be held and will not be processed. Once your identity has been verified, your application will be processed within 3 to 5 business days, and you will receive your student ID number to register for classes.
The Admissions & Records Office can verify your identity at the counter. This is often the best option if you:

If you selected “Verify Later” during your application, you must return to your OpenCCC account and complete identity verification before we can process your application. Follow the steps below to log back in and finish verification.
Log back in to your OpenCCC account you just created:
Once logged in, you may be taken directly to the verification screen, where you can verify through DMV Wallet or ID.me.
You may also be taken directly back to your CCCStart application. If so, click your profile icon in the bottom-left corner, then click “OpenCCC Profile”.
Then click on the blue OpenCCC button to go to your OpenCCC account.
Scroll to the bottom of your OpenCCC account and click on either “Verify with ID.me Now” or “Verify with CA DMV Wallet”.
